No app store needed. Comfort Anchor is a single HTML file that you open in any browser — Chrome, Safari, Firefox. On iPhone or Android you can add it to your home screen and it works exactly like a real app, including offline.

Any device with a modern browser — iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet, Windows PC, Mac. Works on all of them.

No. After the first time you open it, Comfort Anchor works completely offline. No Wi-Fi or cell signal needed.

On iPhone: open the file in Safari, tap the Share button (box with arrow), then tap "Add to Home Screen." On Android: open in Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, tap "Add to Home screen." The app will appear on your home screen like any other app.

Yes — anytime, for free. Go to More → Settings → Switch mode. Your data is never lost when you switch. If you start in Personal mode and later hire a caregiver, just switch to Care Team mode and add them. Takes one tap.

If you're the only caregiver right now, start with Personal — it's simpler. If you already have paid caregivers coming to the home, start with Care Team. Either way you can switch anytime without losing anything.

No — and this is important. Comfort Anchor is designed to live on ONE shared device that stays in the home. A tablet on the kitchen counter works great. Each caregiver signs in with their own PIN at the start of their shift and signs out when they leave. Nobody takes the device home.

Unlimited. Add as many caregivers as you need, each with their own name, hourly rate, and PIN.

No. Caregivers can only see their own hours and pay. The owner sees everything for all caregivers.

When a caregiver arrives they open the app, tap their name, enter their PIN, and confirm their start time. When they leave they clock out, confirm their end time, and optionally leave a handoff note for the next caregiver. Hours are calculated automatically.

Set each caregiver's hourly rate when you add them. Every time they clock in and out, the hours and pay are calculated automatically. You'll always see a running balance of what's owed to each caregiver.

Yes. In the Pay tab, tap any caregiver and tap the Print button to get a full pay history including dates, hours, rates, and payments made. This can be used for Medicaid documentation.

Only on your device. Comfort Anchor stores everything in your browser's local storage. Nothing is ever sent to any server. We have no access to your data at all.

Use the Export Backup feature (More → Export backup) regularly to save a .json file of all your data. You can import that backup into any copy of Comfort Anchor on any device. Keep your backup file in Google Drive or iCloud so you never lose it.

Your caregiving data will be deleted. This is why we strongly recommend exporting a backup regularly. The backup file is separate from browser storage and will not be affected by clearing browser data.
